HarvestCall is seeking a Ministry Support Director. This role is designed to provide leadership and support to its cross-country ministries and committees as well as the overall organization’s Finance and Human Resource functions. The Ministry Support Director is a member of the HarvestCall Management Team and represents the strategic direction of HarvestCall leadership to these ministries and committees. Purpose:
Ensure the effective management, leadership, and communication of HarvestCall committees that support or operate ministries in multiple countries. Ensure priorities are aligned between Country Directors and support committees.
Responsibilities:
General
- Report regularly to the Executive Director and Management Team regarding the support committees.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop quarterly reports to the HarvestCall board
- Maintain personal and professional growth in the areas of administration, leadership, and mission effectiveness
- Develop and maintain critical measures and metrics in assessment of progress towards strategic objectives
- Provide analyses and create strategic policy and organizational recommendations to the Executive Director for managing organizational risks
- Participate in support committee meetings as needed and meet regularly with committee chairs
- Ensure budgets and quarterly financial reports are provided to the HarvestCall management team and that financial reports are prepared for quarterly board meetings.
- Ensure that ministry support committees have access to appropriate training and education
- Help HarvestCall improve the financial reporting process and provide additional insight into our financial process.
Management
- Consistent Communication with all ministry support committee chairs
- Attends Quarterly Board Meetings as requested by the Executive Director
- Represent ministry support committees to the HarvestCall board and in other church wide settings
- Collaborate with the Board to establish long-range financial objectives
- Direct Finance Manager in the development of initial proposed and annual budget for each country and revise in cooperation with Country Directors.
- Facilitate collaboration of support committees with Country Directors or in-country ministries
Leadership
- Develop annual objectives for each support committee that is in alignment with the strategic plan for HarvestCall
- Build relationships with elders that are involved in ministry support committees.
- Assist in the development and selection of ministry support committee chairmen
- Provide support, direction, and accountability to committee chairmen
- Ensure appropriate succession plans are in place for support committees
- Champion the HarvestCall Purpose Vision and Mission and Guiding Principles
- Implement training regimens to continually develop skills of leadership, ministry effectiveness, and interpersonal relationships
- Provide direction and accountability to the support committees to ensure strategic plans are developed, aligned, and executed
- Ensure HarvestCall Board strategy and policy are communicated to support committees
- Research and assist the support committees with questions involving legal matters and obtain legal counsel as appropriate
- Demonstrates a continued growing knowledge of needs for each committee and seeks to grow in understanding of the committees and their opportunities for new areas to serve in the future.
- Able to lead and develop areas of the Strategic Plan implementation as assigned by the Executive Director.
Communication
- Coordinate with Director of Communications to implement appropriate communications for Ministry Support teams.
- Designate appropriate contact for each committees’ communications who will provide content to HarvestCall’s Communications Department.
- Ensure consistent updates from the Management Team and the HarvestCall board are communicated to committees
- Represent the interests and perspectives of the ministry support committees to the Management Team regarding the development of policy, processes, and practices
- Ensure the effective communication of the organization’s policies and procedures to employees, missionaries, and volunteers in the organization
- Develop and give presentations as appropriate (Proclaim & Serve, Church invites, etc.)
Approval Authority:
- Approve non-budgeted expenditures up to $2,500.00
- Approve communications to ensure alignment with current policies
- Approve budgets of corresponding ministries
Qualifications:
Spiritual Qualifications
- Must be a member of the Apostolic Christian Church of America demonstrating evidence of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and have approval of the local elder
- Must have the conviction and demonstrated passion to serve the Lord in all aspects of the four-pillar mission of the Apostolic Christian Church of America
- Must have character, integrity and be above reproach in all areas of conduct and life
- Must be sound in Biblical doctrine
- Must comply with Biblical principles for those in leadership positions
- Must fully support and practice the Statement of Faith of the Apostolic Christian Church of America
- Must be committed to understanding and growing in the Great Commission and the Centrality of the Church in ministry
- Must be willing to be committed to prayer for the people in the Ministries they serve
General Qualifications
- Must demonstrate diplomacy and collaboration skills enabled and engendered by the Holy Spirit
- Bachelor’s degree, preferred
- Previous HarvestCall experience, preferred
- Supervisory experience, required
- Must have the ability to lead strategic planning exercises
- Must demonstrate strong verbal communication, written communication, and organizational skills
- Must demonstrate good decision-making and conflict resolution skills
- Must understand and maintain confidentiality in all appropriate aspects of the position
- Must be able to engage others in a culturally sensitive manner
- Must be committed to serve the entire brotherhood of the Apostolic Christian Church of America
- Able to travel up to 25% of time as needed
